Blue Firus

  Would love to have this done for the northern FXR jam. I’m no motorcycle builder so it takes me a long time to do very basic tasks. I’m enjoying this though, and it’s coming together. I did the exhaust today and mounted some odds and ends , choke cable mount, coil, ignition, etc. Just forward progress when I get a couple free hours. 

 When we started the year, the goal was to hit as many motorcycle events as possible. Buying, selling, fixing, “building” and most importantly riding. It’s been a lot of fun.  Rollin free is the swap meet in Saskatoon organized by Harland and Chelsea and they did a great job, getting sponsors, setting it up and making it fun.  I made a couple stupid videos for IG that the music was removed, recorded my own voice over, simulated a feud with AC/DC and Warner music and had lots of interest in parts I had for sale. The swap wasn’t as busy as I hoped but I sold a lot of stuff and came back with some choice items.  The highlight was selling this hog to a little girl she was so excited, squeezing it and hugging it.

  It’s been busy, we went to Montreal, got home worked on the fence moved in a fence, did some real work. I’ve made a little progress on this bike. I got the tins back from paint and put back on. Still lots to do but I’m really liking how it’s turning out. Fxr babies for life.

 Roll the bones in Montreal. It rained, it poured, it was windy but there were lots of cool custom bike and we got to meet a lot of cool people and make some new friends. There were lots of Panheads, shovels a dual linkert knuckle, a few evos’s a bsa, a Honda, and some misc other stuff. Very cool mix of stuff. We spent a couple extra days trying old Montreal, churches, antique stores, vintage etc. Overall it was a success and gave me some inspiration to finish the fxr I’m working on, and brain storm for the stuff coming up. 

 We’re flying to Montreal Friday morning. Chris looks at the weather apps and radars and plans accordingly, I generally have a loose idea, and if Shawna hadn’t told me it was gonna rain I’d be wearing short shorts and boots. I guess I’ll try to pack a rain jacket or something. Excited for roll the bones, and Montreal in general, I was talking with a guy last night and he was on about the gentleman’s clubs and casinos, didn’t think that was on the radar but we’ll see. I’m hoping to drink some coffee, see the motorcycle show, hang out with Christos and look at some vintage Harley’s. Excited to see all the panheads, knuckles etc and get some inspiration. Also messaged an old timer about finding an evo for that rigid frame we’ll see where it all goes.

  So I called an Oldtimer I bought my first bike off and went to have a visit. Turns out he’s had a rough time the last couple years. His mom passed away, his house was foreclosed on and he has lung cancer and is on oxygen and next to no mobility or strength. It was rough to see a guy that was vibrant, always smoking and bullshitting,a million bikes on the go, super cool shop, etc to be in such rough shape. We had lots of laughs but it was a tough night. I bought some fenders, 39, 35mm trees, tires, fxr stuff, some clutch stuff, but it wasn’t the greatest, it was more to help a guy out. I’ve been praying for him. I hope it turns around, sometimes when you ask to be of service, life takes you unexpected places.
